If you’ve never had tomato jam, the idea of it might seem foreign—they are after all more known for their savory applications. That being said, you have to remember, tomatoes are a fruit and as such are gifted with a ton of natural sweetness.  That sweetness, along with the bumper crops we receive throughout the long summers in NC makes them perfect candidates’ summer-time preserving.  This jam combines heirloom tomatoes with citrus, spice, salt and sugar to produce a perfect time-capsule of summer.  Sweet and savory, bright, sharp and bold—this jam packs just enough of everything to elevate everything it touches.

heirloom tomatoes, white sugar, fresh ginger, lime juice, red pepper flakes, cinnamon, cloves, pectin, salt

Storage Instructions

Unopened, our jams can be stored for 1 year at room temperature. Once opened, please refrigerate.

Tomato jam is a jack of all trades in a kitchen. While it tastes great on toast, you can really take this one farther using it as a sauce on all sorts of dishes – from grilled chicken, to grilled cheeses, to fried eggs. It’s reputation at Monuts comes from one of our first sandwiches ever, Ooey Gooey Gouda, which combines melty cheese, bacon, fried eggs and this jam.
